Basic Education Support Initiative (BESI) – is a non-profit organization committed to revolutionizing the landscape of basic education through strategic financing.
Founded in 2022 by Temitope Jokodola, BESI envisions a future where every child has access to quality basic education, driven by effective fund utilization and management.
At BESI, our mission is multifaceted. We aim to ensure that allocated funds reach their intended purpose in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across Nigeria.
We believe in supporting the basic education system by creating conducive learning environments, enhancing accountability through efficient monitoring, and mobilizing substantial resources for teacher training, infrastructure development, and technological integration…
The overarching goal of TeachMeIct is to develop computer-literate students capable of navigating technological devices and solving real-world problems. TeachMeICT addresses the observed disparity in ICT education for students in rural schools, aiming to narrow the gap between them and their counterparts in urban private schools. Through this initiative, we strive to empower students by imparting essential computer skills and fostering digital literacy.
TeachMeICT is an ongoing initiative that commenced on November 22, 2023, with its inaugural launch at J.S.S Barangoni in Bwari, Abuja. While other planned projects await funding, TeachMeICT is dedicated to a pupil-centered approach. Funds are allocated for the acquisition of portable mini-laptops, and skilled ICT teachers are recruited to impart Information Communication Technology education to underprivileged students in rural schools. The project’s objective is to cultivate proficiency in computer science skills, including programming languages and coding.
